Virtual Interior Design

Hello Friends!

Recently I worked with a residential client that needed several rooms re-designed in her beautiful home. She expressed that they wanted to remodel their great room and open up the kitchen nook area to create an open concept. Today I’m sharing some of the design boards I did for her in the family room area which includes the new fireplace and built-in wall designs. Her style is “Rustic Elegance” and loves pops of teals with a neutral pallet.

North Wall: The family room sofa is in a neutral performance fabric, organic textured area rug with bits of aqua, tan and teal, nesting side tables and pretty accent pillows.

West Wall: New stacked stone fireplace and mantel for an updated look and a darker accent paint color.

South Wall: Brand new built-in with lots of open shelving for accessories and drawers for storage, as well as center glass doors for the TV components.

The Floorplan: The new layout removed the wall in between the dining table and sofa to create an open concept for a great room with better flow. The design boards I shared above is a portion of this remodel. The kitchen nook dining area, the kitchen which to the right of the dining table and their guest bathroom were also re-designed.

Online Interior Decorating Services

Happy fall to all! Today I’m revealing another online e-design client project for a formal living room. My client already had all the walls in her new home painted in a variety of soothing grays. This formal living space includes a beautiful fireplace with two windows leading into the family room.

THE DESIGN CONCEPTS

This elegant Coastal style living space includes a navy, off white and gray color scheme with polished nickel metal accents.

THE FIREPLACE

The fireplace wall elevation includes two stylish cabinets in a macchiato finish with mirrored glass fronts to give an upscale look with warmth and character.

The floorplan has a dynamic and functional arrangement which flanks the fireplace.

E-Design Interior Design

Congratulations to the winner! Today I’m revealing my E-Design giveaway inspiration boards that I just finished for a young professional who just moved into a new home. She had a rather large living room with an entryway and a fireplace wall.

THE LIVING ROOM

The look of this living room has an “Eclectic Glam” feel with girly touches and gold metal accents.

THE ENTRYWAY

This soft and elegant entryway has bench seating with storage and a place to lay your keys with a mirror.

FIREPLACE WALL

The fireplace wall has an accent paint color in a darker gray to create a focal as well as shelving and hidden storage cabinets.

Modern Outdoor Fire Pit

MODFIRE is a company that was started by designer Brandon Williams a custom metal artist. Each of their products are crafted in their Phoenix, AZ studio and each one passes through the hands of one of their steel artisans, ensuring that they are unique, sculptural in their beauty, and functional in their use.

The Bonfire is their award-winning fireplace design which stands 7′ tall creating a real presence in a outdoor space. The Urban Bonfire can be configured to burn propane, ethanol or natural gas. It works for both residential and commercial installations and comes in 6 colors.

The Astrofire circular design reminds me of the Jetsons! It comes in 7 colors and makes a stunning focal point which is a surefire way to inspire a conversation.

The newest addition is the award-winning Solfire, a sleek silhouette with bold design and a pedestal mount that will elevate the fire. This circular modern design comes in 7 colors.

Holiday Wreaths: 8 Great Ideas

Michele’s recent holiday posts, especially the one called “Chic Christmas Stockings”, inspired today’s topic. Holiday wreaths are beautiful and festive for the season. Here are some of our favorite looks—some enduring designs and some new to us. Please enjoy!

Holiday Wreath A favorite of many interior design and decorating bloggers, this wreath dressed up in its holiday finery will surely be replicated over and over this year. After all, feathers and this brilliant citrus hue have both been trending during 2013. Pairing a wreath and fancy garland as part of fireplace decorations can be stunning for the holidays. Here, both are entwined with tiny lights, while the garland has a centerpiece that includes long pheasant feathers. With such an elaborate mantel treatment table decor has been kept simple in the lovely space. Prized for their glossy sheen, magnolia leaves work well with evergreen branches. Here they team up to create a beautifully “undecorated” holiday wreath for the door. Moss-covered wreaths with their brilliant hues are very fashionable this year. This one is accented with wire ribbon, pinecones and a single globe ornament in a matching shade of green. Unadorned wreaths of greenery can look beautiful hanging inside oval mirrors like this one. It’s a timeless look that can be recreated in any style from traditional to contemporary. Holiday Wreath A lovely wreath of natural dried elements in creamy tones with gold-edged brown velvet ribbon is perfect for the holidays but could be hung at other times of the year as well. Red, gold and green are always favored holiday hues. This traditional wreath is gorgeous hung from a wide red ribbon. The fuller the wreath the bigger the wow factor for greeting guests at the front door. Lastly, we just have to share this clever and beautiful tassel idea.
