Beach House Decor

Take a tour of author Holly Peterson’s Hampton beach home and discover it’s colorful transformation.

The Living Room is done right with lots of natural elements, whimsy and just enough orange accents.

TV Room-Elle Decor

The TV Room is certainly bright and cheery in Benjamin Moore Bright Lime wall color. The room has a custom sofa and artwork from Peterson’s children.

The Guestroom is in Benjamin Moore Patriot Blue, the room has touches of coral in the art and lamps.

Don’t forget your bedroom needs a little flower power too.  A pop of color goes a long way and can give a nice balance to the darker hues in a room.

Floor Plans for Living Room: E-Design Client

As an interior designer I love helping each new client with a fresh approach.  From my complete room e-designs to my a la cart online interior design services, it’s always a delight guiding clients whether it be for their residence or business.

Floor plans for living rooms are no different and can be laid out in many ways.  When you think of space planning for your living room try placing your furniture away from the walls if you have a large space.  It instantly creates a cozy area especially if you flank your sofas near a fireplace like the layout I did for my client below.

The smaller windows are perfect for a single functioning drapery panel vs. over crowding them with two.  During the day they can be opened to one side with a decorative door knob tie back for an elegant and polished look.

Window Treatment DesignTip #1.  Hang your curtain rod halfway between the top of the window frame and your ceiling if you want to create the illusion of a taller window.  Be sure to allow the bottom of the drapery fabric to kiss the floor.

Tip #2.  Place the rod at least 4-6″ beyond the actual window frame to create a grander look which will allow for more light to flow into your space.

If you would like a new look for your space or just need some guidance pulling it all together we are here to help.

The master bedroom is soothing and warm with much light.  I appreciate the use of space with the banquette and love the pedestal table.

Green Interiors

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Living Room Interior

I’m getting into the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day with a few interiors that feature the gorgeous hue green. Even though it was last years color of the year it will always be a favorite of mine. This regal color is a forever classic in my book.

Dining Room Interior

You can incorporate a strong color like the green above into a space without it over powering a room.  The statement chairs give personality to this dining room while the other items remain quiet.

EntrywayA bold eclectic look with lacquered green walls.

Green Tablescape

This tablescape with green accents would make a perfect St. Patty’s dinner celebration!
